Abstract

In this paper, the load frequency control of two-area interconnected hydro-thermal power system is presented. The proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller gain parameters are optimized using sailfish Optimization (SFO) algorithm for best optimal solution. The integral square error (ISE) function is used as objective function. The study of load frequency control of the hydro-thermal interconnected power system is presented and compared based on the performance indices and step response specifications. The behavior of the interconnected system is compared based on tie-line power and change in frequency in both the areas.
