Editorial Workflow

The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (IJAIML) follows a structured and transparent editorial workflow to ensure the publication of high-quality, ethically sound, and scientifically rigorous research. The workflow is designed in accordance with international best practices and guidelines from COPE, DOAJ, and ICMJE.

  1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system:

https://www.svedbergopen.com/index.php/ijaiml

Submissions must comply with the journal’s author guidelines, including formatting, ethical declarations, and required documents.

  1. Initial Editorial Assessment

Upon submission, the editorial office performs a preliminary check to evaluate:

  • Scope relevance and originality
  • Compliance with journal formatting requirements
  • Completeness of submission (metadata, author details, declarations)
  • Plagiarism screening using standard tools (acceptable similarity threshold <10–15%)

Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria may be returned for correction or rejected.

  1. Assignment to Handling Editor

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to a Handling Editor or Section Editor with expertise in the relevant domain. The editor oversees the peer review process and ensures an unbiased evaluation.

  1. Peer Review Process

The manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on scientific quality, originality, clarity, and relevance.

The editorial team monitors the review process to ensure timeliness and fairness.

  1. Reviewer Reports and Editorial Decision

Based on reviewer feedback, the Handling Editor makes a recommendation, and the final decision is taken by the Editor-in-Chief:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Detailed reviewer comments are shared with authors to support improvement.

  1. Revision and Resubmission

Authors are required to:

  • Address all reviewer comments carefully
  • Submit a point-by-point response
  • Revise the manuscript accordingly

Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by reviewers, particularly in cases of major revisions.

  1. Final Acceptance

Once the manuscript meets all scientific and ethical standards, it is formally accepted for publication. The acceptance decision is based solely on academic merit and reviewer recommendations.

  1. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo:

  • Language editing and formatting
  • Reference verification
  • Technical corrections

Authors receive proofs for final approval before publication.

???? 9. Publication and Indexing

  • Articles are published online with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) via CrossRef
  • Metadata is prepared for indexing and discoverability
  • Articles are made available under open access policies

  1. Post-Publication Responsibilities

The journal ensures:

  • Corrections or retractions if necessary
  • Ongoing monitoring of publication ethics
  • Archiving and long-term preservation of content
