Abstract

5G's massive machine-type communication (mMTC) requires networks to support a huge number of devices with stringent reliability and delay requirements. The 5G New Radio (NR) standard now includes polar codes, which are ideal for these kinds of situations, especially when decoded using algorithms called Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)-aided Successive Cancellation List (CA-SCL). Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) combined with Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) has been found to be an effective method on a large scale. This paper aims to improve the reliability of CA-SCL polar decoding by combining it with NOMA and SIC. The Results are compared with traditional coding Techniques like LDPC and Turbo and it is observed that the Proposed Technique provides a better performance and Trade-off especially at low SNR’s.
