Abstract

AI can analyze large datasets to drive informed HRM decisions, such as workforce planning, talent allocation, and employee development, revolutionizing the field. With its ability to analyze large volumes of data, AI is revolutionizing how organisations make decisions related to workforce planning, talent allocation, and employee development as part of the HRM process. In supply chain companies, where the availability of employees, the need for them, and the coordination between them is crucial, AI can offer a lot of value to HR. This study will explore how AI can revolutionize workforce planning in supply chain organizations, focusing on key areas such as forecasting employee needs, identifying skill gaps, streamlining talent acquisition, optimizing shift management, and enhancing workforce productivity. It discusses the use of predictive analytics, machine learning, and intelligent HR systems to predict workforce needs, maximize the utilization of resources, and adjust to shifting challenges in the supply chain. This study also addresses some of the major problems of the adoption of AI, such as the privacy of data, algorithmic bias, employee resistance, technological investment, and the necessity of ongoing training in skills. In addition, it highlights the importance of using human intuition with AI-generated information to inform decisions regarding the workforce that are fair, transparent, and employee-centred. It highlights that while implementing AI in HRM, digital infrastructure, data governance, and HR strategy alignment with the supply chain goals are crucial. It has discovered that AI can be a strategic enabler for proactively managing the workforce, and build a skilled, flexible, resilient workforce among supply chain organisations in a volatile business environment.
