The study presents an artificial intelligence (AI) alignment Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for large businesses offering hybrid cloud environments. Existing maturity models examine the development of cloud adoption and AI, but they do not adequately explain how these two domains evolve in relation to one another. The proposed model includes the elements of the Capability Maturity Model and contemporary AI maturity assessment models, creating a multi-level capability structure that spans the entire process of strategy development, the design of data architectures, the implementation of cloud architectural components, the engineering process for AI, defining the management framework, and the automation of operational systems processes. The framework enables scalable artificial intelligence workloads across hybrid cloud environments while ensuring regulatory compliance and reduced processing latency. Additionally, ModelOps and AIOps facilitate effective AI lifecycle governance and intelligent operational management throughout the hybrid infrastructure. The model is designed to be applicable across industries, enabling assessment, capability gap identification, and the formulation of transformation plans. The study proposes a step-by-step, capability-based framework for organizations to build resilient, scalable digital ecosystems and develop intelligent capabilities by closing the maturity gap between cloud and AI.
